"I chose
these lodges as a place to relax at the end
of a busy teaching year. It was a perfect
choice. As we travelled south past Loch Eck
the beauty of the setting was outstanding.
On arrival the lodge was heated (even though
the weather was fairly warm), exceptionally
clean and as a nice welcome the owners had
left flowers and chocolates.
The lodge had plenty of storage which made
unpacking easy. The weather was beautiful and
we were able to eat outside before walking up
Puck's Glen which is just behind the lodges. It
is quite magical - we could imagine Lord of the
Rings being set there!
I especially liked the comfort of the bed. I
have a back problem, but still enjoyed a good
sleep. There was plenty of warm water and we
didn't have to put any extra money into the
meter.
Also within walking distance are the beautiful
Benmore Botanic gardens - well worth keeping a
whole day to explore them. The cafe served
lovely meals, even good vegetarian food. We
also cooked in the lodge and found it well
equipped with a large fridge/
freezer".
